Crispy Air Fryer Sweet Potato Slices
Thinly sliced sweet potatoes seasoned and air fried to golden, crunchy perfection. A healthier alternative to chips, these slices are naturally sweet, slightly crisp at the edges, and tender inside — perfect as a snack, side, or party nibble.

- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- to taste fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped
- optional parmesan or nutritional yeast
Wash and dry the sweet potatoes thoroughly. Leave the skin on for extra texture and nutrients, or peel if you prefer a smoother bite.
Slice the sweet potatoes into 1/8 to 1/16-inch rounds. A mandoline gives the most uniform results; if slicing by hand, try to keep the thickness consistent for even cooking.
In a large bowl, toss the slices with olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder until each slice is lightly coated.
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes. Preheating helps ensure the slices start crisping right away.
Arrange the slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if needed — overlapping will steam the potatoes instead of crisping them.
Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8 to 12 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through. Watch closely near the end; thin slices can go from golden to burnt quickly.
Remove the slices to a rack or paper towel to cool for a couple of minutes. They will crisp up further as they rest.
If using parmesan or nutritional yeast, sprinkle it on while the slices are hot. Finish with a sprinkle of chopped parsley or cilantro and serve warm.
