Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water (for slurry)
  • to taste pinch salt and pepper
  • as needed optional cooked white rice, for serving

Instructions

  • Pat the chicken dry and season lightly with salt and pepper. This helps the pieces sear and develop a nice color.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a thin layer of oil. Sear the chicken in batches until golden and just cooked through, about 3–4 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate.
  • In the same skillet, add a touch more oil if needed and sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the broccoli and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil (if using), and the cornstarch with water to make a glossy sauce.
  • Pour the honey-garlic sauce over the chicken and broccoli. Stir to coat and cook for 2–3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and cling to the pieces. Taste and adjust with a pinch more salt or pepper if needed.
  • Serve immediately over warm cooked rice or enjoy as-is. Garnish with sesame seeds or sliced green onions if you like.
